ONLINE UPS
In order to keep a battery charged, an online UPS (Uninterrupted Power feed) converts incoming AC power into DC power and then back into AC power to feed the load. This form of UPS continually supplies power to the connected load from its battery backup.
For industries, telecommunication, and medical equipment, even a few milliseconds of transfer time might result in major interruptions.
